At the start of a game of No Limit Texas Holdem each player will be dealt a card face up. The player that gets the highest card (with ace being high) gets the dealer button. If two players both get the highest card then the player that was dealt first will get the dealer button. The dealer will deal to his left hand side and the cards will be dealt round the table in a clockwise direction.
The dealer then deals two cards face down to each player. The game will start with the player sitting to the left of the player with the dealer button posting the "small blind". The small blind is a percentage (usually 50%) of the "big blind". The player to the left of the small blind must post the big blind. The big blind is the original bet that all players must post if they wish to "call" the blinds.
If all players call the blinds, without raising it, three community cards, known as the "flop" are dealt face up. If a player raises the bet before the flop then all players must at least call that raise to stay in the game. Any player may raise a bet any time it is his/her turn to bet.
After betting is over the flop is dealt. The players use their two cards, combined with all of the community cards that they can see, to evaluate the strength of their hand. The player to the left of the dealer button is the first player to bet. This player may bet anything between the amount of the big blind and the amount of chips that player has left (although betting rules state that to raise a bet a player must at least double what he was to call, unless he is all-in). The player may also "check". If a player checks then he doesn't bet any of his chips and the option to bet moves to the next player in turn i.e. the player to that player's left hand side. That player may bet or check, and so on...
When this round of betting is finished the fourth community card (the turn card) is turned over. There is another round of betting, with the first player (that is still in play) to the left of the button going first. After this round of betting is finished the fifth and final card (the river) is turned; and there is a final round of betting. If the bet is called, or everyone left in the hand checks, then the remaining players turn their cards over, and the player with the best hand (according to poker hand rankings) wins all of the chips in the pot. Each player makes his hand out of the best 5 cards of the combined 7 cards. If two or more players have the same best hand at the end of the game then those players split the pot evenly.
When the game is over the dealer button moves to the next player on the left hand side and a new game is started.
